Before proceeding, please read the following text, as it
makes sense to create an icon for the program right away.
Afterwards, launch Advanced Declarer Play using the link
above and create the icon as described below.
(As long as this text remains on the screen, please do not
perform the action - otherwise, you would merely get
an icon for this text!)
Following the information on creating an icon, there is
information regarding the arrangement of Advanced Declarer Play
on the screen, and a note on the offline operation.
On a smartphone, the bridge program is easiest to use
when launched via its icon and held horizontally in the hand.
Here is how to proceed on the different systems:
As a result, an icon Advanced Declarer Play (or on small
screens Adv Decl Play) appears in the list of apps
on the screen - usually on the second or third page.
This option disappears after approximately 5 seconds;
after that, you can tap on the three-dot menu at the top ![]()
and select Add to Home Screen (located quite far down
the list, so you will need to scroll) and then select Install.
Either way, an icon Advanced Declarer Play (or on small
screens Adv Decl Play) will appear in the list of apps
- usually on the second or third page.
As a result, an icon Advanced Declarer Play appears in the Dock
as well as in the Mac user's list of apps; you can then find
the app via Spotlight or (prior to OS 26) Launchpad.
On older Macs (up to OS 13), you can create an icon "manually"
by clicking once in the address bar at the top of Safari
and then dragging it to an empty spot on the screen
(dragging = moving while holding down the mouse button).
As a second step, you may wish to rename the icon,
which you do by clicking with the right hand mouse button
on it, then select the rename option.
Alternatively, on older Macs, you can install the Chrome browser,
which works just like it does on Windows (see below).
The window displaying Advanced Declarer Play is divided
into several sections, which are accessed via tabs
located either along the top or the left edge.
The most important tab is the table window,
labeled Table or, on small screens, Ⓣ.
The cards of the players are displayed here.
The other tabs or windows are:
The buttons for the most important actions such as
starting the bidding or the play, are located
in the bar at the bottom of the table window.
This button is not available in Safari because, on iOS,
the application occupies the entire screen anyway when
launched via its icon; otherwise, iOS ignores this button.
On both Mac and Windows, it is better to manually
resize the program window to your desired size
by dragging its bottom-right corner.
Instructions on how to do this can be found in the Help menu Ⓗ
of the program as Program Setup. There is no rush, but you must
do this before going offline, because to enable offline mode,
the device must still be connected to the Internet!
